How Does Your Buyers Agent or Sellers Agent get paid?
Like professionals in other sales-based industries, a Realtor’s pay structure is based on commissions derived from successful transactions. You won’t owe me anything until I sell your home.
Here’s how it works:
Seller’s agent (Listing Agent) and the Homeowner
agree to a commission percentage to pay their Realty Company for marketing their home.
The real estate agent’s payment (commission) is based on the final sales price.
The commission is paid to the Listing Agent’s company and the Realtor at closing.
The amount will vary depending on the area, the Realtor and Realtor Company policy.
The Buyer’s agent gets paid at the close of the transaction. The Seller’s splits the pre-determined commission with the Buyer’s agent as compensation for helping the buyer close on their new home.
